Maren Selvaag is a Norwegian jazz pianist and composer based in Bygdøy, outside Oslo. Holding a Master's degree in jazz piano performance from the Norwegian Academy of Music, she is known for her distinctive improvisation and for creating bold artistic projects — including performing on a 210-kilogram acoustic piano carried into the Norwegian wilderness.

A Steinway Model A inspires Selvaag with its richness of colours. In her own words: “Having this instrument, I really feel that the opportunities are endless. There’s such a broad palette of color and sound that I can choose from.”
