Masterworks in Deep Black and Pure White
The Steinway Ultra Black & Ultra White Limited Edition unites the finest craftsmanship with a clear, modern design language that stands for purity, simplicity, and exclusivity. These contemporary grand piano beauties — entirely in black or entirely in white — are strictly limited to a total of only 52 instruments: 18 grand pianos of Model B and 8 grand pianos of Model D, respectively.

The Ultra Black Edition is distinguished by its elegant monochromaticism. The body is finished in deep black: an intense, timeless black that is prized in architecture and design for its depth. Black symbolizes elegance, strength, and refinement — qualities that are reflected throughout the instrument.
A black-stained soundboard, a cast plate in Liquid Black Yellow, and black-coated metal hardware reinforce the clear formal language. The engraved logo on the front is the sole brand marking; side logos have been deliberately omitted. The fully black keyboard completes the design, making the Ultra Black a grand piano of impressive presence.

The Ultra White Edition embodies radiant purity. The body is lacquered in pure white — a bright, neutral white that radiates clarity and luminosity. White has long stood for precision, simplicity, and purity — qualities that are reflected in the design of this instrument.
A white-stained soundboard, a high-gloss white cast plate, and chrome-plated metal hardware create a cohesive, modern aesthetic. Studio double casters underscore the contemporary character. Here, too, the keyboard is kept entirely in white; the engraved logo on the front accentuates the clean, refined line of the design.

Every Ultra Black and Ultra White is equipped with Spirio | r: the world’s leading high-resolution player technology by Steinway & Sons. A patented sensor system precisely captures every movement of the hammer and pedal. With SPIRIOCAST, live performances can be transmitted in real time — including video — from one Spirio grand piano to numerous other Spirio instruments around the world. No recording, no reproduction: it is a true live performance.

The presentation of the Ultra Black and Ultra White Editions is the result of a special collaboration between two masters of their craft: Bentley Motors and Steinway & Sons. Automotive luxury and acoustic perfection come together to tell the story of two icons of craftsmanship and performance. For the market launch, Bentley presented a Flying Spur Speed in Arctic White with a Piano Black interior — a color combination that reflects the duality of the new Steinway Editions. This collaboration underscores the shared values of both brands: a rich tradition of artisanal excellence, the use of the finest materials, and an uncompromising pursuit of design perfection.

Piano Black has been a preferred option for both Bentley veneers and Steinway grand pianos for decades, forming a natural connection between both worlds. Through the exchange of expertise in woodworking and veneer techniques, Bentley and Steinway reaffirm their shared commitment to innovation, longevity, and attention to detail.\n\n
