Hailed as “brilliant” (The New York Times), “an artist to be taken seriously” (The Chicago Tribune), and “impressive” (BBC Radio), Elizabeth Joy Roe has excited the classical music world with her electrifying performances and tireless efforts towards community engagement. She has appeared at prestigious venues and festivals across the globe, and performs regularly, with orchestras as well as in solo and chamber recitals. Roe conducts a successful recording career, receiving both critical and popular praise for her solo albums, the most recent of which — featuring the complete Nocturnes of John Field — was released in May 2016 on Decca Classics.
Roe, alongside fellow Steinway Artist Greg Anderson, is a co-founding member of the groundbreaking Anderson & Roe Piano Duo, whose concerts, compositions, social media presence, and Emmy-nominated music videos (viewed by millions on YouTube) have captivated audiences around the globe. She is committed to arts advocacy, and has performed and taught around New York City in as one of the inaugural fellows of The Academy — a program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and The Weill Music Institute. She considers it her mission to connect with others through the inspiration, joy and essential humanity of music.
