STEINWAY EMPLOYEE: deputy team leader in the coating department
At Steinway & Sons, a company steeped in tradition, the coating plays a crucial role. Since completing the new coating center in 2023, employees have significantly more space and improved working conditions. With his experience in the automotive industry and a passion for high-quality products, Alex Hlawatschke has also found his calling in the coating of grand pianos at Steinway since 2018.
As deputy team leader in the coating department, he has taken on an administrative role since 2021. He remains responsible for the smooth flow of parts, orders, and quality controls, including the thickness of the coating layer. Getting the layer thickness right ensures no need for sanding in subsequent departments.
