Remembering Ramsey Lewis, Mozart & Liszt with Katie Mahan, Deep Focus & Creativity Boost Playlists

Jazz great Steinway Artist Ramsey Lewis, who passed away last month at the age of 87, was a remarkably prolific recording artist whose gold records and Grammy Awards distinguished him as an elite performer. He was active throughout his long career and we were fortunate to welcome him to the SPIRIO studio in 2015, just after his 80th birthday.

This month we highlight that recording session which showcases his art — blending jazz standards, pop tunes and film music.

American pianist Steinway Artist Katie Mahan now lives in Mozart’s hometown: Salzburg, Austria. Her new album Once Upon a Time, features Mozart’s music — works that have been important in her musical life — and she has just recorded SPIRIO versions to coincide with the album’s release, as well as a SPIRIOSYNC video. The project also includes Liszt’s monumental Sonata in B minor.
