Acclaimed Italian jazz pianist, composer, and producer Francesco Cavestri brings a unique voice to the jazz world through his innovative compositions and electrifying performances. He visits the Steinway Showroom in Stuttgart for a live performance.

Francesco Cavestri is an Italian pianist, composer, and music communicator. He began studying piano at the age of four and graduated with top marks in Jazz Piano from the Conservatory of Bologna at just twenty. In the United States, he studied and was awarded two scholarships at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, later joining the vibrant New York music scene, where he also received a scholarship from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.

His discography includes three albums. His debut record, Early17 (2022), features nine original compositions written and recorded when he was just seventeen, and includes a special collaboration with renowned trumpet player Fabrizio Bosso. His second album, IKI – Bellezza Ispiratrice ("IKI – Inspiring Beauty"), was released by Universal Music Italia in 2024 and features one of Italy's most celebrated jazz artists, Paolo Fresu. The third album, Una Morte da Mediano, also released in 2024, presents an original soundtrack composed by Cavestri for a Rai Play Sound project.

Cavestri has performed at many of Italy's and the world's most prestigious jazz festivals and clubs, including Alexanderplatz Jazz Club (Rome), Blue Note (Milano), Cantina Bentivoglio (Bologna), Wally's Jazz Club (Boston), Smalls Jazz Club (New York), Casa del Jazz (Rome), the Time in Jazz Festival (Berchidda), and JazzMi Festival, where he appeared in two events at the Triennale Milano (a trio concert at the Triennale Theatre and a workshop at the Agorà Hall).

In January 2024, Cavestri received a major accolade from Musica Jazz, Italy's leading jazz magazine, being named the youngest among the "New Talents of the Year 2023", an honor he would receive for the second consecutive year in 2024.

As a music educator and cultural ambassador, Cavestri collaborates with the association Il Jazz Va a Scuola ("Jazz Goes to School"), organizing lecture-concerts, workshops, and masterclasses in theatres, schools, and festivals, often alongside leading Italian and international artists. On April 30, 2024, for the UNESCO International Jazz Day, he received the IJVAS Award for young music educators and composers at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, alongside some of Italy's foremost jazz musicians, including Stefano Bollani.

In September 2024, Cavestri began his collaboration with Steinway & Sons Italia, performing at several events organized by the historic piano brand's new Milan showroom. Shortly thereafter, he was officially named a Steinway Artist, joining the ranks of the world's most distinguished pianists — an international recognition of artistic excellence.

On January 21, 2025, Cavestri released the single "Entropia", distributed by Universal Music Italia, in collaboration with Willie Peyote. The track anticipates his forthcoming studio album, continuing his exploration of the connections between jazz, hip hop, and electronic music.

On March 5, 2025, Cavestri recorded a live album at the Steinway & Sons Hall in Milan, to be released soon, which will inaugurate his upcoming international tour.

In April 2025, Cavestri was named one of Forbes Italia's "Top 100 Under 30", recognized among the most talented and impactful young Italians of the year — and notably, the first jazz musician to be included in the list.
