THE HITS OF ROBERTA FLACK, RHAPSODY IN BLUE, HAYDN SONATAS, AND STEINWAY IMMORTAL GYÖRGY CZIFFRA
This month STEINWAY & SONS SPIRIO, the world’s finest high resolution player piano, presents music made famous by Roberta Flack. The sophisticated and classy style of this iconic singer is brought to life on piano by the Prince of New Orleans, Davell Crawford performing such classics as Killing Me Softly, Where is the Love and The Closer I Get to You.
Our STEINWAY IMMORTAL this month is the remarkable Hungarian virtuoso, György Cziffra. Known for his dazzling technique, Cziffra stands out amongst pianists of all eras. His performance in this month’s SPIRIOSYNC video of Liszt’s Grand galop chromatique, from London in 1962, is a stellar example of his art.
Katie Mahan
JOHN O'CONOR
American pianist Katie Mahan debuts on SPIRIO with an American classic, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, in the composer’s own arrangement for solo piano, emphasizing its rhythmic jazz influences and big-city sonorities. Katie also performs her version of I Got Rhythm from Gershwin’s great American songbook.
And our essential classical repertoire continues to expand with a new set from the celebrated Irish pianist John O’Conor of the great piano sonatas of Franz Joseph Haydn.
