David Kadouch presents Mendelssohn-Hensel, Landowska, Viardot, Boulanger
Plus... Mozart Discoveries, Pianos Peaceful & Dramatic
This month we are proud to present French pianist David Kadouch in a program of music by Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, older sister of Felix, and a most worthy composer sharing the famous family name. Her works, very few of which were published during her lifetime, include many fine compositions for piano. Also on the program are works by Lili Boulanger, Wanda Landowska, and Pauline Viardot — creating a marvelous set of Romantic music that you may not have heard before. The Sérénade by Viardot was also recorded as a SPIRIOSYNC video.
Peaceful Piano
Dramatic Piano
Also this month we introduce two new themed playlists: Peaceful Piano is a gentle soundtrack to accompany quiet times of the day or to create a calming environment at home. Dramatic Piano explores the emotions of SPIRIO, STEINWAY and the compelling virtuosity of our Artists.
More repertoire that is new to SPIRIO comes from Greg Anderson performing Mozart’s Variations on a theme by Gluck, and Simon Mulligan, who plays two (dramatic) Fantasies by the same composer. And Antonio Pompa-Baldi performs a wonderful work by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, La sirenetta e il pesce turchino, (The little mermaid and the turquoise fish).
