Steinway Employee: Carpenter in the Damper Department
On the fourth floor of our Hamburg piano factory, carpenter Simon Callies works in the damping department. He has been building action parts for our grand pianos there since 2018. This was heretofore beyond his wildest dreams as a construction carpenter. Look over Simon's shoulder as he creates a mechanism and be inspired by his path to Steinway — which he describes as winning the lottery.
